Below are common steps for troubleshooting your logins and ensuring that you’re following the necessary steps to gain access to our internal systems.

Completed MyHR but not the Employee Portal

It sounds like you have completed the MyHR potion and need to complete the Employee portal registration now. Make sure that after you complete the MyHR registration you follow these steps:

• Go to the Employee Portal registration page: ( https://portal.vtxco.com/register-for-your-portal-account/ )
  • Click on the first time option in the welcome sentence (this only needs to be completed once)
• Enter first name, last name, and your new [vtxco.com] email address, then save it.
  • (Make sure to enter your legal name)
• You’ll receive an email with instructions and a link for creating a password. 
  • (Give it a few minutes if you do not receive the automated email you may go to the link below and trigger the email again through the Forgot Password link at the bottom of the page)
• Once you’ve created a password, Please refresh and then you’ll have access to log in to the portal (  https://portal.vtxco.com/)
  • Make sure to use your Vertex email as the username
  • Make sure to use the newly created Password
  • Answer the math question
  • Then sign in

Confusion between MyHR vs Employee Portal

Please be sure that you have completed the MyHR registration that was provided to you from your HR prior to visiting the Employee Portal Registration. Once you have completed the MyHR portion you should be able to refresh it so it recognizes the creation of your new Vertex email. Make sure that after you complete that you follow these steps:

• Go to the Employee Portal registration page: ( https://portal.vtxco.com/register-for-your-portal-account/ )
  • Click on the first time option in the welcome sentence (this only needs to be completed once)
• Enter first name, last name, and your new [vtxco.com] email address, then save it.
• You’ll receive an email with instructions and a link for creating a password. 
  • (Give it a few minutes if you do not receive the automated email you may go to the link below and trigger the email again through the Forgot Password link at the bottom of the page)
• Once you’ve created a password, Please refresh and then you’ll have access to log in to the portal (  https://portal.vtxco.com/)
  • Make sure to use your Vertex email as the username
  • Make sure to use the newly created Password
  • Answer the math question
  • Then sign in

Error: Information already exists

You’ve tried to log into the portal but receive a message that your email already exists. Please click the “reset password” link on the employee login page. This will allow you to reset the password and then proceed as mentioned in the steps below.

• Once you’ve created a password, Please refresh and then you’ll have access to log in to the portal (https://portal.vtxco.com/)
  • Make sure to use your Vertex email as the username
  • Make sure to use the newly created Password
  • Answer the math question
  • Then sign in

Error: Hmm that page does not exist

It sounds like you have completed the MyHR portion and need to complete the Employee portal registration now (if you have issues with any of the pages loading you may have to try it not logged into the VPN). Make sure that after you complete that you follow these steps:

• Go to the Employee Portal registration page: ( https://portal.vtxco.com/register-for-your-portal-account/ )
  • Click on the first time option in the welcome sentence (this only needs to be completed once)
• Enter first name, last name, and your new [vtxco.com] email address, then save it.
• You’ll receive an email with instructions and a link for creating a password. 
  • (Give it a few minutes if you do not receive the automated email you may go to the link below and trigger the email again through the Forgot Password link at the bottom of the page)
• Once you’ve created a password, Please refresh and then you’ll have access to log in to the portal (  https://portal.vtxco.com/)

Error: Your information does not match

Please be sure when registering that you follow this direction

• Go to the Employee Portal registration page: ( https://portal.vtxco.com/register-for-your-portal-account/ )
  • Click on the first time option in the welcome sentence (this only needs to be completed once)

We found that when entering your information if you do not use your proper name it will not accept it. (ie Sr, Jr etc) Please try registering with the following: (Below is an example)

 First Name: John

Last Name: Doe Jr

Email Address: john.doe@vtxco.com

Once you register it should trigger the password email so you can set a password for the employee portal. If you do not receive it in a few minutes please revisit the log-in screen and use the forgot/reset password link on the bottom of the page. After you set the password and save it please make sure to refresh the browser before trying to log in. That will give the system time to register the new password.

Note: In Outlook, check your “other” category. The password email is coming from WordPress from Vertex.
